Is the "best haunted" hotel in America here in the Finger Lakes region?

There are plenty of spooky places around Rochester. Now, one of them is scaring up attention from across the nation. Belhurst Castle in Geneva is in the running for USA Today's reader's choice award for "Best haunted hotel." According to the description of Belhurst Castle in the contest, "The most well-known ghost thought to occupy Belhurst Castle, a stop on the Haunted History Trail of New York State, is Isabella, an opera singer who died in a collapsing tunnel. She’s often spotted wearing white and walking the shores of Seneca Lake or standing in the front lawn at night." You can cast a vote here through noon on August 26ht. The winners will be announced on September 6th. Belhurst has won numerous accolades over the years, by being named "a World’s Best Wine Hotel by Wine Enthusiast," voted number three in USA TODAY’S Top 10 Wine Country Hotels, listed on the National Register of Historic Properties, and voted one of the Most Romantic Places in New York State.
