Spy whale retrieves iPhone

May 9, 2019

A few weeks ago, a beluga whale that was fitted with a harness was noticed off the shore of Norway. The "Spy whale" as it’s become known as, seemed friendly and used to being around boats and people. The whale was friendly enough that the fishermen were able to remove the harness. The writing on the harness led some people to believe that the whale was trained for military purposes which a few countries, including Russia and the U.S, have reportedly done in the past with various sea creatures. According to a report from dodo, the whale has been hanging around the area where he was first spotted. A woman named Ina Mansika posted an amazing video on her instagram account showing the whale retrieving and returning her iPhone that slipped out of jacket pocket while she was leaning over the water looking at the whale.
