More Emoji's For Professional Women

May 11, 2016

Google is working on diversifying your Emoji game.

Amy Butcher recently wrote in the The New York Times, "We are told we are the new generation of American women; no longer a minority, we are, in fact, the majority of breadwinners in American homes. And yet the best we can get is the flamenco."  She's referring to the flamenco dancer Emoji that's already available.

A Google team has created 13 emojis of male and female farmers, chefs, doctors, scientists, and more, and submitted them to Unicode Consortium, which oversees emoji creation.

Team Google says, "We believe this will empower young women (the heaviest emoji users), and better reflect the pivotal roles women play in the world." The the new emojis could available by the end of the year.
