Abbreviating 2020 to 20 Could Open You Up to Scammers

Monday, January 6th

Abbreviating the year 2020 as just 20 on checks could open you up to scammers, because it's easy to change the year by adding two more digits to the end.  For example, if you wrote a check with the date 1-6-20 on it, someone could add 21 after the 20 to make it 2021 and cash it again next year.
